| If you have shoes that you don’t wear/need/want and that are in good shape, bring them to RBC and drop them in the baskets. Soles4Souls facilitates the donations of shoes, which are used to aid the hurting worldwide. Shoe companies, retailers, and individuals can donate footwear (both new and used). Soles4Souls is a 501(c)(3) recognized by the IRS, and donating parties are eligible for tax advantages. The idea behind gifts of shoes is nothing new to the Soles4Souls team, as they coordinated relief efforts for the Asian Tsunami and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, netting over 1 Million pairs donated for these disasters. The team originally operated as www.katrinashoes.org with several churches partnering in the collection and distribution of footwear. More information can be found here.

Bible in 90 Days

Host Parents Needed

Chadron State College is in need of additional host parents for the upcoming school year. A lot of people at RBC have taken part in the host parent program and we are encouraging everyone who can help, to do so. It is a great program and is very helpful to the college students just as much as it is to you.

Most of you are familiar with the host parent program we have for incoming students. This is a great program that helps students adjust and get acquainted with Chadron and their new school. This year, we need a few additional host parents as we have more students that would like to be paired with a host parent. Couples Retreat

Camp Witness is hosting a couples retreat August 14-16th, 2009. The cost is $90 before July 15th, $110 after July 15th.
The featured speakers are the Daum’s. The Daum’s have been married for 34 years. After pastoring local churches for 30 years, in Jan. of 2006, Roger and Brenda began “Restoration Ministries” to strengthening marriages, families, churches, and communities through practical teaching on enhancing loving relationships. They are affiliated with Caring for the Heart Ministries in Colorado Springs, CO and Living Foundation Ministries in Blue Springs, MO., and operate the ministry from their home in Cozad, NE.
This ministry is unique in that individuals or couples come from the area as well other states to seek help in resolving core emotional pain that creates other problems and hinders emotional and spiritual intimacy in relationships. Unresolved pain from childhood or earlier life experiences emotionally locks a person to hinder them from loving or being loved. Once those barriers are removed people are able to start caring for the emotional needs of others in a refreshing new way. They are also given practical tools on how to keep their hearts open to give and receive love. The Daum’s have received numerous testimonies from people who have shared how their lives, marriages, and families have been positively impacted as their hearts were healed.

Plan to participate in welcoming new CSC students to Chadron on August 20th. We will be helping students move into their dorm rooms and get situated. Contact the church if you are wanting to help out.
We really need people to move students in from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, the 20th.
