On March 18 & 19, 2017 Ridgeview will be hosting Reach Missions Emphasis 2017. The purpose will be to focus our hearts and minds on God’s heartbeat for the nations. Make your plans to be here for this exciting weekend, and trust God to work in a significant way in your life!
Things begin on Saturday, March 18 at 6PM with a Concert of Prayer for Global Missions. This will be an exciting mix of worship (featuring Ridgeview’s Worship Band), prayer, missions presentations and speaking. You don’t want to miss this!
Then on Sunday morning, we will have Greg & Julieann (we’re going to stick to first names online) joining us from Global Serve International. Julieann plans to share with the college women during the Sunday School hour (9-10), and Greg will preach during the main worship gathering. They have a ton of experience in cross-cultural discipleship and a fresh perspective we all will benefit from. Here is Greg’s bio:
Greg was raised in a Christian home in Michigan and grew up with relatives involved in missions. Greg spent a year working on a tribal contact in South America and then graduated from Michigan State University in Chemical Engineering. While working at Dow Chemical, Greg felt the Lord leading him to work overseas and he attended Columbia Biblical Seminary in South Carolina. There he met his wife, Julieann and they moved to Florida where they served on staff at a church for 3 years. During this time the Lord placed Siberia on their hearts and in 1994, they went out to work among the ethnic peoples of Siberia. They spent over a decade planting communities of faith among ethnic people groups and a large community of deaf people in the region. The fellowships are now on their own with their own pastors and leaders. Greg formed Global Serve International (GSI) to assist workers to enter and work among the least reached in closed or limited access regions. Greg and Julieann have 2 sons, Dylan, 22 and Eric, 20. Greg now serves as International Director of GSI.
Following the worship gathering, everyone is invited to an international meal in the Ridgeroom, prepared by Job Corps students from Thailand, Burma, and other countries. During the meal, the Costa Rica team will share their experiences serving people in the hurricane-affected regions of Costa Rica during Spring Break.
So make your plans to be here March 18-19. We are trusting God to use this weekend in a significant way in the hearts of many. Maybe even in yours!
