Reach Missions Emphasis 2017

Reach Missions Emphasis 2017

Announcements Missions Reach Conference on Global Missions

On March 18 & 19, 2017 Ridgeview will be hosting Reach Missions Emphasis 2017. The purpose will be to focus our hearts and minds on God’s heartbeat for the nations. Make your plans to be here for this exciting weekend, and trust God to work in a significant way in your life!

Things begin on Saturday, March 18 at 6PM with a Concert of Prayer for Global Missions. This will be an exciting mix of worship (featuring Ridgeview’s Worship Band), prayer, missions presentations and speaking. You don’t want to miss this!

Then on Sunday morning, we will have Greg & Julieann (we’re going to stick to first names online)  joining us from Global Serve International. Julieann plans to share with the college women during the Sunday School hour (9-10), and Greg will preach during the main worship gathering. They have a ton of experience in cross-cultural discipleship and a fresh perspective we all will benefit from. Here is Greg’s bio:

Greg was raised in a Christian home in Michigan and grew up with relatives involved in missions. Greg spent a year working on a tribal contact in South America and then graduated from Michigan State University in Chemical Engineering. While working at Dow Chemical, Greg felt the Lord leading him to work overseas and he attended Columbia Biblical Seminary in South Carolina. There he met his wife, Julieann and they moved to Florida where they served on staff at a church for 3 years. During this time the Lord placed Siberia on their hearts and in 1994, they went out to work among the ethnic peoples of Siberia. They spent over a decade planting communities of faith among ethnic people groups and a large community of deaf people in the region. The fellowships are now on their own with their own pastors and leaders. Greg formed Global Serve International (GSI) to assist workers to enter and work among the least reached in closed or limited access regions. Greg and Julieann have 2 sons, Dylan, 22 and Eric, 20. Greg now serves as International Director of GSI.

Following the worship gathering, everyone is invited to an international meal in the Ridgeroom, prepared by Job Corps students from Thailand, Burma, and other countries. During the meal, the Costa Rica team will share their experiences serving people in the hurricane-affected regions of Costa Rica during Spring Break.

So make your plans to be here March 18-19. We are trusting God to use this weekend in a significant way in the hearts of many. Maybe even in yours!

The maximum team size is 25, including the team leaders. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions (via Facebook or email – or call 308.432.5131).

vm2016

As you may know, a few weeks ago the Elder Team packed everything up and went to Ft. Robinson for three days to pray for the church and to plan for 2017. This Sunday, following the worship gathering, want to share the fruit of those discussions with you. The elder team will be presenting our vision for 2016-2017 – what we believe God is calling us to do this year. Everyone is invited, and there will be time for whatever questions you might have. We will be discussing our vision in general as well as specific plans and the proposed budget. I hope you will be there this Sunday.

Bucket Drive for Louisiana Flood Victims

Bucket Drive for Louisiana Flood Victims

Announcements In the Loop

lfloodThis came to us from Melody Herbert. If you are looking for a way to help the flood victims in Louisiana, this might be an option:

The Chadron United Methodist Parish is putting together flood buckets for the flood victims in Louisiana. If you would like to be a part of this and donate either supplies or monetary it would all be appreciated. Our goal is to assemble 10 buckets; however if we can do more that’s even BETTER! Click here for (link) a list of supplies. If you can’t donate enough for one bucket, anything you can donate will help and we will purchase what is still needed to fill the buckets. WE DO NOT NEED THE BUCKETS w/LIDS. Ace Hardware donated the buckets with lids and Bomgaars has donated some supplies. Drop off points for money donations or supplies are:

  • Wed, Thursday, & Friday mornings from 8-Noon at the UMC at 847 Shelton St. and
  • Wed & Thursday evenings from 5-7 at the American Legion Club at 123 Bordeaux in Chadron.

The buckets will be assembled and put together on Friday afternoon and sent to Ogallala, NE on Monday Aug 29 to be shipped to Louisiana. If you have any questions please contact Vicki Kotschwar at 432-3615 or Melody Herbert at 430-2040. You may also call the Church at 432-2866. Thanks in advance to all who help with this worthy cause. Please feel free to share this with your friends and other businesses & organizations.

Ministry Leadership Application

Ministry Leadership Application

Announcements

ministryleadershipDear Church Family,

Beginning this Fall, everyone serving in a ministry at Ridgeview Bible Church will either have to be/become a member of Ridgeview or will need to go through the quick and painless Ministry Leadership Application process. This second option offers a way for those who are here on a shorter-term basis to serve in ministry (e.g., a college student, Job Corps student or someone temporarily working in Chadron) without having to become a member.

So if you are serving, or wish to serve, in a ministry at Ridgeview (AWANA, Sunday School, Christ’s Kids on the Ridge, Ridgeview Worship Team, etc.), and are not a member, please take the time to download this form (click here or on the image above) and return it to the church office.

Thank You!

Pastor Mike, for the elder team

Announcements

Taytum HuffmanPlease continue to pray for Taytum Huffman, the baby of Nels & Stephanie Huffman. As you may know, Taytum has had serious issues with her esophagus since birth, and she has been in a hospital in Denver since a few days after she was born. Taytum had a set back last night; her oxygen levels went really low, and now she is back to the 1st stage of NICU. Doctors plan to dilate her esophagus today at 12:30.

Also, if you would like to contribute towards Taytum’s mounting medical expenses, a friend of the family set up an account to do that. Here is the info:
